Skin Rejuvenation Therapies
Wrinkles and sagging, dull skin are no longer an acceptable, irreversible effect of the aging process.
Non-surgical skin care treatments are safe, affordable and effective, and Winston Hills dentist Dr Martina Lavery and her team are uniquely placed to offer these services to you.
At the Studio, we practice holistic head and neck health, so don’t be surprised when Dr Lavery examines your temporomandibular joint (TMJ), muscles of mastication (facial muscles), and your glands of your neck – she has been doing this ever since she qualified as a dentist almost 20 years ago. Now, she’s also going to be checking out your skin, too.
Comprehensive Care in One Appointment
There is no one-stop rejuvenation procedure which works for every patient – it is important to have a specific and targeted skin care regime to get the best glowing, healthy skin.
Dr Lavery recommends committing to very simple home care regimen initially. Just like it’s important to floss and have good oral hygiene habits at home to optimise the health of your gums, the same goes with your skin.
To achieve the best results, Dr Lavery is passionate in advocating the message of being as healthy as you can be: getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, eating well, stressing less and using dietary supplements.
At the Studio, We Address Four Main Principles of Skin Rejuvenation
- Relax the skin – Botulinum toxins soften the facial muscles that lead to wrinkles.
- Refill the skin – Dermal fillers restore the loss of volume in the skin and improve contours.
- Resurface the skin – We improve the skin surface with either chemically or mechanically resurfacing peels that range in depth based on the products we use and treatment technique. Mechanical resurfacing uses micro-needling collagen induction therapy.
- Reshape the skin – We provide non-surgical facelifts with PDO threads or a referral to an experienced plastic surgeon for facial surgery.
Do You Want Smooth, Glowing and Wrinkle-Free Skin?
At the Studio, we offer a very targeted approach to fine lines and wrinkles. The most widely known method is anti-wrinkle facial injectables. A less well known medical cutting-edge technology method is thread lifts.
What Are Mono Thread Lifts?
The threads are dissolving, synthetic suture materials made from the same fibres we use to close surgical sites. When placed under the skin, threads can be used to smooth, relocate and reposition areas of the skin by stimulating collagen production in specific areas.
What Is the Thread Made Of?
There are many different types of threads, but at Martina Lavery Dental & Skin Studio, we use the most advanced short-term absorbable PDO threads (polydioxanone threads).
They provide simple, safe and effective results, with very little downtime.
Results last for 12 to 24 months. The procedure takes 30 to 60 minutes and requires only local anaesthetic. PDO threads have been used in surgery for over 30 years!!
