IF YOU ARE SELF-CONSCIOUS ABOUT MISSING TEETH OR WEARING DENTURES, REGAIN YOUR CONFIDENCE WITH DENTAL IMPLANTS.
WHAT IS AN IMPLANT?
A dental implant is a device that can replace the root of a natural tooth. It can replace a single missing tooth or several teeth. When a tooth has been lost, a dental implant can be surgically placed into the upper or lower bone of the jaw. A crown is then added to the implant by a connector (called an abutment). The crown is then glued or screwed into the abutment.
WHY DO I NEED AN IMPLANT?
When a tooth is lost, undesirable outcomes in the mouth can occur such as:
- If a tooth is missing the adjacent teeth can start to move into an undesirable position.
- Sometimes bone from the jaw can be lost once a tooth is removed
- If a crown is to be placed in the space, the adjacent teeth don’t have to be cut down.
HOW MUCH DOES AN IMPLANT COST?
The cost of an implant depends on the bone quality, the number of implants required and how the implant will be restored after it is placed. Dr. Lavery will give a detailed treatment plan for the costs associated with your treatment prior to treatment commencing.
