COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY – MICRO NEEDLING

Dr Lavery’s all-time favourite technique for skin resurfacing is – collagen induction therapy (skin needling).

This treatment is performed using a microneedle which penetrates the skin causing pin prick bleeding points which results in remodelling of collagen which produces rejuvenated, healthy and aesthetic skin. It can be used with dermaceutical peptides or gold standard cutting edge stem cell therapy, concentrated growth factors (CGF).

HOW IS COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY CARRIED OUT?

Dr Lavery assess the skin, applies topical anaesthetic to the skin to make the procedure comfortable, rolls the needling pen over the skin to achieve light bleeding and applies hyaluronic acid into the inner layer of the skins epidermis.

IT NORMALLY TAKES A 1 HOUR APPOINTMENT.

With Collagen Induction Therapy, you must allow a few days for the skin to settle down. The most common side effect is redness, and peeling which takes up to 5 days. Staying out of the sun is very important afterwards.

This treatment aids in the reduction of scarring of the skin from acne or accidents.

COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY (MICRO NEEDLING) WITH CONCENTRATED GROWTH FACTORS (CGF)

A clinical option to optimise healing of soft tissue is using platelet concentrates called Concentrated Grow Factors (CGF).

Platelets contain high quantities of growth factors. The first generation of platelet concentrate was Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). PRP has been used to aid tissue healing for a long time. This system has now been further refined to the current third generation and market leading process called Concentrated Growth Factors (CGF). This allows for the isolation of a much larger, dense matric which is more superior in the isolation of growth factors. The addition of these CGF is cutting edge medical rejuvenation – science based healthy skin which looks radiant, smoother and youthful.

It is carried out in the same way as the micro needling with peptides, however, a blood sample is required from the patient to cultivate the growth factors and stem cells.
