Will my procedure hurt?
Whether you are seeking care for your smile or thinking of having skin therapy, pain is often a concern. Dr Lavery is gentle and uses the latest anaesthetic techniques for all of the procedures we provide to ensure a pain-free experience.
For patients who have difficulty getting numb, avoiding the surgery may feel like your only option. We want you to know that it isn't. To reduce anxiety, we offer sedation dentistry to complement the local anaesthetic we use, making it possible for you to become completely numb.
Nitrous oxide sedation – A mild sedation option, nitrous oxide enters and leaves the system quickly, and you will be able to resume normal activities after your procedure.
Oral sedation – Oral sedation requires medication and that you have someone to drive you home from your appointment. You may have some residual grogginess and should plan on resting for the remainder of the day.
One of the features of sedation dentistry that our anxious patients appreciate the most is that you will likely have few memories of your appointment.
Every patient is different. If you have concerns about discomfort or you have had a negative experience in the past, give us a call to discuss your concerns. The more we know about your history with dental pain, the better we can serve you in a personalised way.
